The name Hubbell Wiring
Device-Kellems is synonymous with innovation and quality. In keeping
with this well earned reputation, Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems has
once again raised the bar by introducing a line of innovative, high
quality, single pole plugs, receptacles and accessories for the
single pole connector marketplace. These products are made of a
specially formulated thermoset rubber that resists cracking in cold,
heat, oil and other harmful environments. In addition, each plug and
receptacle is insulated providing ultimate safety. The Hubbell
single pole connector line is rated for 600 volts up to 400 amps for
cable sizes #4 through 4/0. These single pole connectors are the
right choice for motors, generators, lighting distribution panels
and numerous other power applications.
These single pole connectors have been designed with ease of
assembly and disassembly in mind. No special tools are required. A
high strength nonconductive retaining pin is all that is needed to
securely lock the contacts to the insulated sleeve. Simply align the
holes of the housing and contact and insert the pin, it's that easy.
Disassembly is just as easy, simply push the pin out of the contact
and housing then remove the cable and contact. The contacts are made
of high conductivity brass. Male contacts are self compensated for
wear. This provides a safe, reliable connection reducing the
possibility of arcing or burning of contacts. In addition contacts
and sleeves are reusable.
Hubbell single pole connectors are completely interchangeable
with other manufacturer's single pole products. The product is UL
Listed and CSA Certified and is NEMA 3R* rated. In addition, this
product complies with the 1999 National Electrical Code standards
for locking type connectors.
All housings are color coded in one of five different colors for
convenient phase identification. The specially formulated rubber
housing provides a shroud for the male and female contacts. The
shroud protects the contacts from abuse while limiting access to
live parts.
